From people who give to get, I prefer to get nothing
To people who expect expensive gifts, I prefer to give nothing rather than give grouchily
For Christmas, I rather give to needy family member, specially children, who will not reciprocate my gifts.

I do not usually expect or want to receive anything from friends, but I would expect a boyfriend or husband to give me something nice I do not need but will treasure, like a piece of jewelry or a gift card to a spa, or to retailers such as Macy's, Dillard's. etc.
Really, from a significant other I expect to receive something that will materialize their love and affection.

While alot of people will say they like home made gifts, I prefer gift certificates. When I get gift certificates, I buy something I want and then let the person know what I bought and how much it meant to have the certificate to buy it with. And believe it or not, I do remember how gave me the "money" to buy the gift and remember the gift being from that person. Where maybe the home made gift will be sold at a garage sale or maybe never used.

The best thing I ever get for Christmas is the rare times when I have all 3 of my children together. Nothing can top that. I never care about getting anything. I prefer to give. The only thing that can make my face light up on Christmas is to see REAL happiness on someone else's face.

I love xmas and I love to give gifts like pj's, bath gift baskets from bath and body or victoria secrets, or a gift certficate to my family member's favorite restuarant so that they can enjoy a night without cooking, or a gift certificate to a store like Macy's where they have all different things. I prefer to receive gift certificates, or books I'm really not a picky person so I enjoy anything people give me.

I like to receive gift certificates, because I am hard to buy for. I also like to give gift certificates, because lots of people I give to are teenagers, and I never can figure out what they want. Either I give them the gift certificates, or will put some money in an envelpoe, and give them money. **Merry Crristmas**

how about something cheap but attractive?I dont mind dollar store gifts at all.Really though in A way I just dont like the whole premise of christmas because its a big strain to have to buy gifts for so many diffrent people. Its a strain financialy as well as mentally. What would they like? What did I buy them last year?Does this gift look cheap and stupid? You know what I mean.

I think I'd rather receive a book or a CD I like, but actually it depends on the person you want to give a gift to, everyone has different tastes.

I love to give.... Getting is OK but really giving is my fave. As far as getting I love to get things I normally wouldn't buy myself, small things like manicure sets or bath salts.
