There must be a myriad of answers to this question - basically there is not just one type of bully. People may bully others for a variety of reasons - they want their own way; they want to feel power over another; they have themselves been bullied; they want help; they feel insecure and inadequate etc, etc. There are even people who bully but do not realise they are doing it - with these it is important to tell them how you perceive their behaviour and, hopefully, they may change their behaviour.

There are a lot of reasons why some people bully.

They may see it as a way of being popular, or making themselves look tough and in charge.

Some bullies do it to get attention or things, or to make other people afraid of them. Others might be jealous of the person they are bullying. They may be being bullied themselves.

Some bullies may not even understand how wrong their behaviour is and how it makes the person being bullied feel.

A bully is insecure of himself, so to build up his self confidence
he bullies mentally and physically. However, if he is not dumb,
he will carefully chose his victims so that he will win his self
imposed contest. The true ending for the bully is that he is
a mean coward that does not realise that his stupidity is only
fooling himself.

People bully because it makes them feel better about themselves. They also do it to make them seem cooler than others. Personally I think its all an act because when I was in 7th grade(Im a college graduate now) a girl picked on me for no paticular reason, she started hitting me and finally I had enough. I dropped my books in the hallway and started punching her. It took 3 teachers to break us up. Oddly enough, we became friends after that. Reason being is because she realized that I was no longer going to take her crap and she rather have me as a friend then someone who "will just hit back"

1.To make them selves feel better because they properly have more problems than the person they are bullying.

ap[arently negative behaviour is caused by negative feelings als negative atracts itself so if you go out there with a feeling of posetivity and inner happiness you will not be bullied try going out thinking of them in a nice way and see what happens and let us know if it worked remember if you feel fear it shows sovisuaslize yourself as their friend and dont be afraid bullies feed on fear
