im a 22/m/white. i have an urban style and look. i wear baggy jeans, tims, j's, have a fade haircut, and have diamonds in my ears. for some reason white girls seem to have a kinda negative reaction to me. they seem to be acting cautious or nervous. i'm not gangsta though. i'm a psych sr in college. i work 40 hrs a week. i don't get it. im a cool guy who loves to clown around n gets along with everyone. but like when i just try and talk to them at school they have this bad reaction. its like they got something against me. i just don't understand why this is?

It might be the way you dress. Some girls like the look and some don't. It also depends on what kind of girls you are trying to talk to. It may also be your attitude on things and your personality. Try dressing a little different like wear relaxed fitted jeans(not tight but not baggy either) take out the diamonds and either put in a small hoop or smaller diamonds. I personally like small hoops. Maybe they think that you are only into yourself because of how you dress. Usually people who have to have name brand things are into themselves. Change your wardrobe up a little and see what happens. Also see what happens when you change you attitude a litte too. To females looks and how a guy dresses tells alot. hope this helps

When I see guys wearing that style of clothing I have to admit my first thought is Why do you walk around with your pants around your knees and isnt it uncomfortable? Then I think that there is no way I would give you a second look - there is a gang type aura (if that makes any sense) around people who dress like that - however if I take the time to get to know you I would probably think differently I would look past the clothing and see the person... depending on your attitude and the way you speak and what you say it may still take me time to really get to know the real you.

If you're into psychology than I assume you could also be into doing a little investigation of your situation. Try changing your appearence around and see what happens. If you chage and nothing happens, you know that's not the reason and it may have something to do with your persona. But, maybe the way you dress is intimidating to the kind of girl you're attracted to so do a little mixing it up and just see what happens!

PS. Take the diamonds out. It really honestly doesn't look good.

Some White girls are more on the preppy side, so they tend to want preppy guys. You just gotta find a girl who is into your style and the way you are. DO NOT change yourself for anyone. You are who you are and if they can't accept it, then forget them.

I'm a Latin-american girl, and i get reactions like that too. You just gotta brush it off you're shoulder.

Good luck!

you should ask one of the girls why they react to you that way. Or tell a freind to ask FOR you. Thats what i would do. Get more information from the girls ok man? Because thats the heart of the problem. If u ask the questions you'll get the answers. Hope this helps . - littletiger1991

No. on no account. i comprehend it coz i'm an asian n we use it right here as a independent word infact we use it for a individual who has a pleasing complexion. It the way they say it to you feels like its a foul word yet its no longer. I havent heard it getting used enjoyed that.

Don't dress like a gansta, get rid of the earrings, and dress like a normal person. Dress like a gangsta, what do you expect. Don't try to be something you're not.

Go buy clothes that make you look traditional.

Maybe it isnt your clothes, maybe it is your attitude or the way in which you speak to them..... most girls are pretty open minded and will take the time to get to know someone that they have interest in....

best of luck

Sounds like to me that your presentation of your appearance would lead one to believe that you are more into another culture than that of a white individual. Which for some may be a little offsetting.
