Once I came across a song which carries very strong message. The MTV is like that:
A female singer sitting in front of a plain backdrop. She seems to be holding a guitar.
The song is about world peace/ worldwide charity.
In between the shots of the singer, there are simple graphics like "how much we spend on a car equals XXX children's education in Africa". and camera shots of the third world too.
The song is accoustic in style.
Name of song and singer totally forgotten.
It appeared just a few years ago.
Anyone got a clue?
Thanks a million.

Without the title of the song i cant really help you, but as a guess i could tell you, there are some that play guitar that have been on MTV in recent years, try looking up Tori Amos, Fiona Apple, Michelle Branch and maybe Vanessa Carlton......Little Birdy, Kasey Chambers and Missy Higgins might be worth looking up as well

Almost sounds like (Nothing But) Flowers by Talking Heads. But the lead singer is a guy and there are no shots to third world countries. This probably isn't what you're looking for, but dammit, it's better.
