I am happily married, however, before I found my husband, I would have much rather had just a lover or two. Less trouble.

In this generation, it really depends on the age and upbringing of a person but I'd (and most of the people I know would) definitely prefer to be in a more permanent and longer lasting relationship, thus with a boyfriend. It would be a total waste my time, attention and affection if I will just choose someone whom I cannot have any security nor foresee a possible future together. I'd better focus all my energy with someone whom I can call my own. =)

Depends on the relationship with the lover. If both of you respect each other and nobody is using the other person, could be very satisfying. But to be in love is the best happiness there is.

I am also a relationship guy, want to spend lifetime with wonderful woman who loves me and go through good and bad times every relationship has. If you only want a lover, then you only thinking of short term--here and now "I want what I want" mindset. Some people just don't have it in themself to truly deal with issues so short or temp term is their capacity.
*Best to find wonderful person to stay married to for life,so that way have lifetime to become amazing commited lovers together.

I'd rather have many LOVERS, and no bulls**t!!!! When the evening is over, we go our separate ways until the next time. (rolodex weekends / evenings.)
