Yes, ozone is poisonous. Ozone is an active form of oxygen and it will cause breathing problems and eventually death if it is breathed in too high a concentration. It will also damage your eyes and skin, as it is a very active oxidizer.

However, high in the atmosphere, trace quantities of ozone help block ionizing solar radiation. Therefore, ozone can be both a good and bad thing.

Tropospheric ozone, caused by emmissions from car exhausts, causes problems with lungs and increases the number of cases of asthma, lung infections etc. However, without the ozone layer on the stratosphere, there would be damage to human immune system, more cases of skin cancer and damage to the photosynthetic apparatus of plants(resulting in poor crop yields) caused by the suns harmful UV rays which are filtered by the ozone layer. So depending on where the ozone is located it can either be a good or a bad thing.

Yes, ozone is a powerful oxidant and free radical generator. It damages the lungs, skin and other organs.

Surface ozone is dangerous, stratospheric ozone is beneficial because it blocks harmful uv radiation.

Common source of surface ozone .... have a sniff at the office photocopier but the environmentalists don't seem to have notice this one (they are a very selective crowd)

Yes it is and no it isnt. Think of it like smelly people who have a nice character - Direct exposure is nasty and will irritate you but a complete lack of ozone would make you feel more lonely and increase your radiation exposure. Thank you ozone for being in the sky where we need you but dont have to smell you.

Yes and No. It depends on which layer of the atmosphere it is in. If it is in a certain higher up layer (the stratosphere) then it isn't considered a pollutant because it blocks too many radiation waves from coming to Earth. If it is in the layer of the atmosphere nearest us, or where we can breathe it (the troposphere) then it is considered a pollutant because it is harmful to breathe. Hope I Helped! Good Luck!

Exposing sensitive skin to ozone or breathing it in, is like burning the skin/lungs. Ozone is a very effective oxidizing agent, and damages the skin.
