Not as far as I know. If antibiotics not working you must go back to your Dr in case something else is causing cystitis.

I found that Cranberry juice does help me (I’ve not had any problems since I started drinking it daily). Potassium citrate (available from most pharmacies) and plenty of fluids should help clear it.

As for prevention - I was told by a nurse that if it is sex that is causing it for you, then you should go straight to the toilet after sex to help prevent any bacteria from 'hanging around'

More info at NHS direct

Hope this helps

Go to CVS pharmacy or something like that, Walgreens... and buy over the counter medicine for cistitis, right where the tampons are. Really helps the symptoms go away, but make sure you don't have rennal problems, which can make things worst. You HAVE to go to the doctor, he has to make a urine exam. With antibiotics should go away, unless youve been getting infected again, without knowing.

I know a friend who was taking it and she said it stopped the burning sensation but ti didn't make it go away. I find pure natural cranberry juice does the trick, its got to be just cranberry juice no added sugar..and apparently it washes the bacteria away.
If that doesn't help then maybe your doc can give you stronger tablets.

You need to go back to your doctor.
There must be some underlying cause for repeated infections.

Drinking lots of water and real cranberry juice will help the symptoms but not deal with the cause.

cranberry juice or cranberry tablets will help you in the long term...in the short term use barley water..don't waste money on the counter items they won't help and the antibiotics are more likely to cause you to have thrush as well....

Good luck and wear cotton knickers that helps

try drinking cranberry juice and lots of water to try and flush it through. try to cut down on sex for a bit (thats if you are still managing ti with all the pain), wear cotton knickers rather than manmade, and skirts rather than tight jeans.
its awful, i hope you feel better soon x

not sure on that one but a good preventative measure is to take cranberry juice daily and steer clear of white wine works for me.

Cranberry juice is very good but you should tell your doc that you still have this problem.
