as its loading what is this noise also..it takes a while for it to pull up the yahoo site and i have high speed.what is going on?

Have you "cleaned" your computer lately.. that is. DISC clean up.... defragmentation... deleting temporary files... eliminating history files, etc I would love to advise you but I just do not know enough and particularly the answers to the above. If you have not done any of the above.... then that is obviously the problem and simple to remedy

No idea what the ticking noise is, sorry.

As for the Yahoo site, its speed is not based solely on your connection speed. Its also based on the server, its connection, and how much traffic it is receiving... among other things. If you're trying to access it at peak times, it could be the reason it is slow.

You may have been experiencing pop up. I would run AVG antispyware to see if that fix the problems.

If the desktop box and not the speaker making the noises then you are having a hardware problem.

I have ticking sound too, I have a physical damage to one of my hard drives; it took forever to do anything and often fails if that section of space gets touched; so I deliberately partitioned off that part of disk. That ticking sound is a result of trying to access the damaged platter of the disk.

Check your power supply voltages...also, check your hard drive...it MIGHT be going bad.
