Dell has specials and packages anytime, and their computers can be good quality but.... If you don't know everything about computers as in how to fix every single problem on your own then either don't go with Dell or put the number of a good computer tech on speed dial cuz Dell will never help you fix anything.

Maybe you would be better going to Maplins. A friend of mine had one built to his own specification very reasonably priced it was. You can then shop around for a printer / monitor on line and get a really good pc as a result. If you have it built, you can choose the performance level, case, colour etc. I have found that complete packages including printers etc are overpriced. Buy separates, it is cheaper and you will get a better deal in the long term.

These deals that DELL offers are for a basic system, you always see them on TV. you know, buy for $200.00 after mail in rebate, then they want you to upgrade and by them time you have done this, and get the system you want, you are looking at $1700.00. if you plan on doing anything which involves the use of a computer, other than surf the net, these machines will not satisfy you. I suggest building one.

If Christmas is a slow season, then there may be some deals. Try the Dell web site "Outlet" section. I recently bought a rehab notebook there. It is the same as brand new including the 12 month warranty. I priced the identical machine on their web site the same day and it would have cost me $185 more.

Definitely after Thanksgiving sales. You usually will get a great deal after your mail in rebate. Be sure to keep your original boxes, receipts, package slips etc, because most often they want the original paperwork for proof of purchase.

Early in the month. They have monthly specials, but as the month progresses, the prices inch up. Get a catelog, they show the specials.
