Can somebody really change or do they always go back to how they were?

Sure people can change but only if they themselves really want to - it'll never work if they're trying to change to suit someone else - they have to want to it for themselves.
I've known several people to turn their lives around though - so yes absolutely it is possible. xx

If you mean simple or specific behaviors, yes, people can and do make the choice to lead their lives differently all the time. If what you're wanting is a change in a fundamental personality trait, you're probably out of luck, unless the person goes through counseling.

Of course folks change opinions, attitudes, demeanor, dress, poitics, religous beleifs, tastes, and allsorts.
But I have found that it all stems from the sense of who you really are, and that does not seem to differ that much.
If you are a freindly sort of soul, I would like to think of much as myself, you will remain so.
Or, if you come across some obnoxious person, I guess that they will always be that way. Sadly.
Just my thoughts, and goodly question.

People can change when they feel that they need to and that they want to. I suffered from depression for years and only by changing my attitudes and changing myself did i defeat it and become a better person, I've also met many people that wanted to change for the better and they did but only because they really wanted to xx

Someone will only change because they want to change for the better and possibly for someone who they have met and fallen for. This change shows their commitment to that person, but should that love or interest deminish, then they could go back to their old selves.

everyone is always changing just depends on the level of mental and emotional stimulation to dictate the rate of change.
