because alot of times its old magazines people leave behind or donate to the doctor. no doctor subscribes to magazines for patients

Funny you should say that, one day I donated a large box of glossy mags to the surgery all just a few weeks old. I then had an appt 2 days later and none of them were on display for patients to read, so the answer is the receptionists steal them, well they do in my surgery!

I remember going to the doctors not that long ago and the childrens magazine available included Storyteller - from 1982!

They can no longer afford to get the subscriptions to the magazines that they used to........thats my answer anyway. Hope this helps..... next time you are at the drs ask the receptionist why they dont get the latest issues anymore.

My sugery updates theirs but I go there to be treated and have problems sorted out but it's good to have up to date publications. The main reason is that people who work at surgeries are normally too busy and run off their feet to buy new ones!!!
