Why, out of one side of his mouth, does Bush romance the people of Iran, by telling them how much he loves them, then out of the other side has been carrying on covert operations there since January, has already identified thousands of bombing targets, has already imposed a Naval blockade and is already cooking up fake intelligence reports? Deja Vu?

What’s really bizarre about Bush’s specific double dealing with concern to his rhetoric and actions pertaining to Iran, is that Bush’s diehard supporters used to always criticize John Kerry as a “flip flopper”. The main reason why Bush was victorious over Kerry, aside from the fact the country was reluctant to change leadership in the middle of serious foreign conflict, was the fact that they successfully portrayed John Kerry as a person who is spineless and ambivalent; incapable of making a decision and always looking to appease people on both sides of an issue.

Yet these same people can’t see that Bush is no different in this regard. He straddles the fence so hard, he gives himself a wedgy. Yet, unlike Kerry, Bush’s rhetoric is brazenly tailored to earn political points, while Kerry’s rhetoric was misconstrued as double dealing, when in fact it was consistent. It just had too many nuances for simpleton reactionaries to understand.

Its sad that as long as the person who is committing the blunder, or act of political appeasement, is the man you voted for, we tend to overlook their shortcomings.

1. The people of Iran don't want their theocratic totalitarian government, and most support Western style freedom and close relationships with the US, like they had prior to 1979.
2. The 'covert operations' are there to support the freedom-seeking pro-democracy groups, and to gather intelligence on the terrorist training activities. The pro-freedom groups have to remain hidden or else they will be imprisoned, if not murdered.
3. Of course they have targets. That's what competent military planning is all about. Get. A. Clue.
4. Already imposed a blockade? Pshaw! That's a lie! And an easily disproven one.
5. Fake intelligence reports? What are you talking about? You have finally lost all contact with reality. Why do you have to lie so much to support your position?

Why are you people such liars? Is that the only way to attract people to your side, by hiding the truth? Is that the leftist way - that the ends justifies the means - like your leftist forebears Stalin, Mao and Pol Pot?

Like Mr Bush said: We the American people have nothing against the Iranian people, we are against the government of Iran because of what they support, terrorist groups all around the world and what they want, the destruction of the the rest of the world that is not Muslim. If you think that this is a joke, you probably not reading the Newspapers or not seeing Lou Dobbs in CNN. You have to stop hating Mr Bush because in our country this is the man that the American people voted for and we have to wait until Nov. 2008 to get him out. We are in war and we have to fight the enemy with the troops and leaders that we have. If we start complaining and denigrating our President all we are doing is helping morally our enemies. I know you are not a Muslim but a red blooded american. Right.

because he's been talking out his neck so long that it doesn't work any more. i really think he is desperate, and these are the last ditch efforts to redeem himself with some of the people. after all, didn't all this start because of iran and his dad when he was in office. gwb was gonna make things right because they threatened his daddy. essentially he bit off more than he could chew, and now his mouth is so full, he can't swallow it and neither can we!

Have you ever heard the term, "know your enemy". I love the liberals that put forth the "let's sit down and talk this out" approach and then when our government attempts this cry," foul". Think about what will happen if Iran gets nuclear weaponry. No matter what your political leanings might be, survival might be optimum for you to continue spieling them.
