The best advice i can give you (and I'm a collector) is to always look for 45s and/or LPs that have their sleeves/dust jackets -- alot of the ones from back in the 70s-80s have pictures of the bands . Alot of LPs have collectible info inside as well .. i know that people will sometimes pay for the cover before the actual 45 or record.
To get vinyl that has a 'promo only' stamp on it is a good find as well ...
