Stay off the computer by limiting you time on line. Then get up and go some place if mit just for a walk in the mall. Call a friend, go to a movie or watch TV even unplug the computer.
You may even go to the library and find something to read or meet new people. It is not good for you to set at your computer for hours every day.

A friend of mine disconnected himself from the internet for an entire year and that finally worked. It was kind of inconvenient because of e-mail and research, but he went through with that and started to go out again, made friends, and now he has the internet as a tool, not as a companion....give it a try, it might work...good lukc

Bring your PC over to someone's house for a month or two. This way you won't have it in the house and that will give you the chance to discover other interests that will get you out of the house and less dependant on the internet.

set certain times of the day or evening to be online and stick to it. I tend to spend a little to much time online and I've found that I'm using for an escape! Not good... I've been calling friends and starting little projects around the house to keep my mind off things!

Once when I was younger, I got caught smoking cigarettes, My mom decided that if I liked them so much, I should keep smoking them. So I wound up smoking about 15, I got really, really sick with nicotine poisoning.
Do the internet thing until you just cannot stand to look at the screen. After that you will be able to take it or leave it.
