I don't know if we should get rid of it completley...however it is getting very PC and suffocating.

I think we have bigger problems such as the shortage of the funding in the NHS and the fact that rapists get let out of jail to commit crimes again. Rather than worry about smacking children etc..

But I do think the school dinners is a good idea...its going back to the ideals of free milk after WWII. I am very proud of our history and ideals of an NHS etc...But funding for this gets curtailed cause of government nanny state ideas, which only solve little problems, which are part of much larger and important problems.

Yes, all our freedom is going up the spout!
Wear a seatbelt, wear a helmet, don't talk about certain subjects, don't drink, don't smoke, don't eat. I'm 36 and I'll do what the hell I want to, as long as it dosn't hurt anyone else. I'm a grown up don't you know, I think I'm old enough to make my own choices not have them forced upon me. After all the Uk isn't an Islamic state (oo am I allowed to say that) yet.

Definitely ditch it. We're all grown-ups and old enough to make our own decisions. The problem is that no-one will take responsibilty for their own actions - they're either poor, too young to understand, had a hard life, disturbed, etc. Once we start to take responsibiity for our errors/crimes, and face up to the consequencies then society will be a much better place.

Phew, yes!
I dont mind contributing to the support of other people's children, the sick and the elderly BUT I really object to my hard earned cash / taxes being used to support young people who choose not to work.
In case this is a new idea I have spoken to people who actually say 'why should I get up in the mornings and go to work?' It almost makes me feel I am the foolish one for getting up at 6am 5 days a week to earn the money to feed myself and pay my mortgage.
1st step - re-organise benefits payments. Pay only for accomodation (directly) and food stamps. After 6 months people should have to take any work offered to them.
