trying pouring 1 cup of straight bleach in your toilet and another in the tank. Let the toilet water sit for 10 minutes or so, then flush. Let that water sit for another 10 minutes or so. You may have to scrub with your brush, but the bleach should kill most of the stain with no scrubbing!

1) To prevent that.. once a week, I put a pretty hefty mixture of clorox and let it sit for some 2-3 hours and that keeps the ring away.. BUT...
2) I have had rings that were DIFFICULT and I had to keep a piece of that pumice stone(the only good thing that you can use) to get the ring off.

Did you know that the quality of the toilet bowl has a lot to do with the ring.... I now have a glazed finish on the total toilet bowl.. before the bowl was somewhat glazed but was porous.. a cheaper bowl

Try bowl cleaner called THE WORKS. I've had good luck with it over the years .If that doesn't work use muriatic acid, available at Home Depot Lowes or any hardware store. Use rubber gloves and eye protection when using it though. Good Luck !

Rubber gloves, scrub brush, toilet cleaner of your choice and elbow grease! once it's clean try those products that come in an upside down bottle, that you put in the tank and turn the toilet water blue with every flush. You'll have to scrub much less often.

If the ring is due to minerals in the water the easiest way I have found to deal with it is to scrape it off with a small, sharp knife. Or you could scrup for a day or two. good luck
