In ODIs:

It´s Rohan Kanhai who was the 1st Indian (hindu) to captain the West-Indian side. In fact, he was the 1st captain of West-Indies. But, he could only captain the side for just 2 ODIs. The captaincy was handed over to Clive Lloyd.

In Tests:

In Tests it´s also him. He captained the side for only 13 Tests, in the period of 1 year. It was handed over to Clive Lloyd, as in ODIs.

If you mean first man of 'Indian origin', then it should be Rohan B Kanhai (of British Guayana) in 1972-73. Another equally famous cricketer of similar origin who later on captained West Indies was Alvin I Kallicharan (also from Guyana) in 1978-79.
