While out shopping do you end up paying (not mugged yet).
Then the shop assistant invarriably hand the change over to the wife!!!
Mugged 9 times out of 10!!!
How do you feel about it!!!

the short answer..YES every bleedin' time. I don't think there is a long answer without involving lawyers and divorce!

I get perplexed of course, but I realize that this is just another case where the shop clerk has not been trained properly and lacks basic common sense. That is, whomever hands over the money should receive the change.

It's strange but as I now live in Japan and have a Japanese girlfriend I find that all my change is given to her even in restaurants. The shop staff just don't seem to want to give a foreigner his money back.

Happens so often it fails to bother me, women always stick together its an unwritten code passed down from mother to daughter, in order to fleece.
Simple solution.... pay on card

my husband is well trained to hand me the dough at home already, i teach him its not very civil to quibble about these things in public...
