Paralyzed - no. You don't have nerve endings in your navel like you do in say...a major muscle. It might be stiff for about a week or so until the skin loosens up, but you will not get paralyzed. That is just a myth used to scare dumb kids.
As for infection, this piercing takes 6 months MINIMUM to well over a year to fully heal (no removing jewelry, etc). It is on a part of your body that is continuously attacked by wasitbands, tight clothes, laundry baskets, the family dog and so on. People also have a tendancy of touching their piercings while they are healing and this is a lovely way to introduce bacteria to an open wound.

It can become infected easily
but I have never heard that it paralyzes you? That sounds crazy.
Clean it daily, and you should be fine. I've had my pierced for 8 years now - and it HURT a LOT after the piercing, but I never had an infection.

Some people have reactions to the metal in the piercing so make sure you are not allergic and remember to wash the piercing regularly.

No, you can not get paralyzed from getting your belly pierced.
You do have to keep it very clean and clean it with rubbing alcohol or witch hazel frequently.
Then you should have no problem.

Yep Bea, it's true. And after 3 days of infection gangrene sets in and the smell is awful. But it's all solved in 2 more days when your stomach rots off and you die.

any piercing can get infected if not cared for properly...and same with if its not pierced correctly it can cause nerve damage, but that can happen even with an ear piercing...make sure your going to a clean, safe, place...ask around for refrences

authentic yet fake. simply by fact the sea is packed with salt water, and salt water is a organic wound healer, you could bypass swimming interior the sea as quickly as you get it accomplished :) Buuut with river water and pool water, you could desire to watch for a minimum of three weeks until now it heals. Swimming interior the river and pool water might get it contaminated extremely from an infection interior the river and chlorine interior the pool. yet ocean water is advantageous... yet i might stay on the secure area and stay remote from ocean water too for sort of three weeks to boot.
