It could be anything from a object in the tire, bearings going bad. Is there anything else vibrating, pulling?

Possibly the lateral arm if on the rear tire. this usally happens if the vehicle is several years old caused by worn out rubber bushing. Sounds like a thud and more evident when brakes applied or passing through a hump.
If on the front tire possibly shock supports or even stabilizer.
A damaged wheel or rotor bearing usually has a continous sound so I am sure its not the bearing.
i think you'll get more good answers if you inform the readers on the make
and model of your vehicle. Someone out there with a vehicle similar to yours may have experience the same problem.
Complete info usually get the best answers.

If you haven't been in an accident or hit a major pot hole since you had the new wheel bearings done, I would change mechanics. He should of noticed excess movement in the steering parts a month ago. A good mechanic checks those things.

Sounds like the control arm bushing had it change 6 times on a 95 Dodge intrepid does it ever feel weird when you turn like your tires are not turning the same amount?

It could be tie rod ends or CV joint problems..take it to a real mechanic who will actually diagnose it, & then fix it. Suspension trouble is not good for the car as a whole.

If it's only when you turn one direction it could be the CV joint.
