There is a publication available from your Scout Shop called Program Helps that has den meeting plans following a monthly theme. It has games, advancement ideas, projects and more. There are also several books showing how to make craft projects. If you do not have a Scout Shop nearby check it out on line at www.scoutstuff.org. Another place to go for ideas is your monthly round table, a meeting of scout leaders where you can share ideas for Pack meetings and Den meetings. Contact your local Scout office for meeting times and location.

Lots of activities....
My son joined 2 yrs ago... They kept him so busy that he loved it.
Swimming at the Y, Zoo, Fire Dept, bowling, Derby car, cake bake, parades, Nursing home Christmas caroling, Police dept. There are tons of things to keep them busy! Have fun.
Our Den mother went through the wolves book and set up activities according to the patches they can receive. Example: For Swimming... call your local YMCA and tell them what organization you are with and that you would like to set up some time for your troop. There will be a cost, but ask the members to donate. Set your activities up early because space is limited.

Talk to the other den leaders who have done this before you. They will have ideas of what works, what doesn't, where to go for activities in your area. Talk to the local council, too. They should have people assigned to your district who can help, too.
