OOPS mean Object Oriented Programming System.
I think u r new to this concept, let me have a example and explanation.
OOPs has several features like,Inheritance, messaging, datahiding, exceptionhandling etc. u will have a clear idea of them when u just hear the introduction of it.
ex:- consider u codded a program for adding 2 int nos in c later when u were asked to change it for strings, u need to change the prg, again u were asked to change it for floats,u did it. Now see here the backend concept is adding two things but u need to change the code, by using oops once u code for adding two things u can use this any where and even other programs u need to use it as needed for several types etc, which is a complicated thing in c. this is just a minor example for very basics. But the concepts of oops are very intersting and useful.

OOPS stands for Object Oriented Programming Software.
There r 2 ways of programming : (i) Procedural/Structural (ii) Object Oriented.
Procedural approach implies use of various functions inside a single "main" function. For eg. C
OOPS approach implies dividing ur program into different isolated objects-each having their own "member functions". For eg. C++, Java
OOPS has a lot of advantages over Procedural approach.
