I agree that alcohol is worse for you than marijuana.
I've never heard of any health implications that could cause disease... like alcohol.

Wow. This question comes up a lot where I live. I personally do think that marijuana should be legal. If you think about it, marijuana has almost the same exact effects as alcohol.

The only reason marijuana isn't legal is because the government can't tax you on it like they can cigarettes and alcohol. Reason being is because everyone is able to grow their own.

Marijuana also has medicinal purpous. (That's spelled wrong) If more people smoked marijuna we'd have less problems with our eyes (Haha). People that drink alcohol just get liver problems. So honestly, I don't know what the big deal is. To me, marijuana is more safe than an alcoholic drink ever will be. How many "angry stoners" have you seen? I've never come across one, but an "angry drunk"... watch out.

So to answer your question. YES marijuana should be legalized.

It may as well be. So many people do it these days, the law doesnt seem to stop them. But if it was legalized, the bikies would lose out on a lot of money, and since the bikies pay police not to interfere with their dealings, I dont think it'll be legalized for quite some time. Police get free drugs that way, too. But on the other hand, it can cause all sorts of mental problems from loss of memory, schizophrenia to psychosis. Amsterdam seems to do alright, though.

Yes, it should be legal, because it does no harm and it very beneficial for many things from sleepy-time tea to a great mulch for the garden. The oil from the seed could easily be made into bio-diesel and the fibres could be made into paper and cloth at a lower cost and much less chemical use than either wood (high transportation costs) or cotton (high pesticide use).
When used for recreation it is safe and non-addictive. When it is legal alternate ways of taking it than smoking should be promoted, because putting smoke into the body is not so good.

Speaking from a former cancer patient and also a nurse and current medical (Doctor) student who is fixing to graduate in 07; YESSSSS!!!! I DEF. WOULD SAY YES! I Live in North Carolina and of course it is NOT legal here and my cancer doctor told me while taking my radiation treatment if I chose to smoke marijuana than by all means do so; he wouldn't say a thing. IT HELPED ME GET THROUGH MY TREATMENTS..without it, I don't think I could have made it, and I also took Phenergen for nausea as well. I helps headache, which I suffer from. It helped my pain level in what I had to deal with. I was on pain meds plus the pot. I have been cancer free for about 10 years now.

However now, I do not agree with just smoking it to just "party all the time"..it's ok if you are sick to your stomach, headache, nausea, and pain control. But I just don't agree with abusing it marijuana as a party drug. I do think it should be legal though; through the Rx of a doctor's permission of some form. The government should NOT have say so over this; this right should be given to Doctor's to control as to there patients who needs this Rx prescipstion.

Absolutely! Not only should it be legal, but it should be decided state by state how and where it can be purchased. It would take another 50 years from now to iron out all the issues if it were ever legalized.
There is documentation regarding the social problems attributed to marijuana vs alcohol, booze is more evil by far. Remember, you lose with booze, there's hope with dope.

Yes, because it has not been proven to cause any long term health complications, unlike alcohol and cigarettes. It is from the earth, so how can we put laws on the earth's crops. It would drop crime rates because people wouldn't be in competition to sell anymore and people would be too high to commit violent crimes, unlike alcohol, which is a factor in nearly all violent crimes. And, dammit, because I like to stimulate my mind, man.

Although I believe marijuana is harmless I don't think it should be legalized. The government needs to keep their hands off pot. Legalize it and you have government control of it.
