If you ever get the chance, get an Audi with multitronic transmission. It is automatic without a torque converter. My A6 does 40 miles to the gallon with this fantastic transmission.

There IS an Audi A2 that has an automatic transmission but it was never offered in the UK.

It is a 1.2 diesel engine and uses an automatic mechanism to change gear on a manual gearbox, but drives exactly like an automatic.

The 1.2 is quite special and there is even a version that can cover 100KM on 3 litres of fuel (basically 100 miles to the gallon)

The A2 wasn't made with automatic transmission. You could get it modified to have automatic transmission, but this would cost a lot.

Cold air intake is for the cooling system of the engine ! It does improve Mpg but very little , over time it adds up.
