I remember in Middle School, every week we would listen to an excerpt from Peter & The Wolf, and we had to guess what animals where represented by the instruments, and whoever got it right won a price. Thats how I heard of Prokofiev. Sadly I have already forgotten most of it, but I can still remember, I think, the tune that accompanied Peter.

Decades ago, when I was still a wee laddie, I heard his Lieutenant Kije Suite played on the television as soundtrack to an early colgate toothpaste advert which featured a horse-drawn sleigh in a snow covered forest.
At that tender age, though I was enchanted by the image, it was the music that I found really stirring. It was some time before I heard the same music played on Radio 2 (my Dad would listen to Radio 2 in the evenings while he shaved at the kitchen sink, and I did my homework at the dinner table) and discovered the name of the composer and the title of the piece.
Amazed I remembered this, cos my memory is truly appalling.

After looking up Peter and the Wolf on Internet Movie Database.com. It was used as a video clip highlight detailing Joe "Broadway" Namath in a fairy tale-like around Super Bowl III.
