Well actually this seems to ve noraml amongst a lot of woman .I know it is for me. You should try to get a doctor to check you out just to make sure. But i know for me it's normal. I have heard that caffeine like soda and coffee can increase your pain. When you know your periods coming like the day before if you can then take a calcium suppliment (surprisingly enough like rolaids or of course milk or cheese) and some ibprofrein, this will iad in a easier period.

That's a regular problem with females. Some get the pain more than the others. Its the cramps in your stomach and lower abdomen that hurt. There a few things u cud do and feel better: -
1) Lay on ur stomach
2) Avoid cold food/ drinks for the 1st 2 days. In fact, a day before u r expecting ur period also. Instead, take warm liquids such as tea/ coffee, more often than u otherwise do.
3) Try eating a mixture of roasted asafoetida and jaggery. Very easy to make and naturally eases cramps.
4) Bananas may help too.
5) Keep eating in little quantities, even if u dnt feel like-coz an empty stomach'll hurt more.
6) Don't be sitting or lying down all the time. Take a walk/ do some kneeling exercises.
Hope u'll be better next time. I've missed a lot of days from school, college and work-all because of the 1st day of my period!!
Take care..

It could be a lot of things. If it is this bad first thing you need to do is talk to your doctor. Lot's of women have more severe pain, but you need to check it out to be sure. The doctor can make sure it is not something else and give you a some what stronger medication to help with the pain. He may even switch your oral contraceptive or put you on one. Yaz is a good oral contraceptive to help control the pain. You need to go to the doctor first thought to make sure it isn't something else especially if your pain has just suddenly started to be worse than previous months. Hope it all turns out well.

I ain't a girl, but I learnt in Sex Ed. last year (when my friend asked why periods hurt so much) that the egg tears theough the thingy on either side of your thing. I've gotten the names, but it hurts because the egg breaks through tissue/skin or whatever. Hope that explains it.
