I watched a show on the Discovery Channel discussing this idea, how it could be done, the problems to be faced and whether or not it's worth the cost.
I realize you can fly to Russia/Asia, but I found the idea intreging. I love to drive and do plan on driving to Alaska one day. It would be cool (no pun intended :) ) to be able to driveacross the Bering Strait to China. Now if there were a bridge to Hawaii!

Almost a hundred miles - 4 times the width of the English Channel.

That would be quite an engineering feat (and a financial one).
The Strait freezes over in winter. That would be rough on structural materials.

Its not impossible, as man-made structures go. The Suez Canal is that long. You sure dream big, don't you?

I think the road toll would be exorbitant and wouldnt like to break down/run ourt of gas half way. Cool idea, but probably not too practical.
