Sorry, this is the closest catagory I could think of.

Ok,
Me and my friend are 12. We would like to make some more money. We already both get allowance and we are both homeschooled. We know each other from church. Now we were thinking about starting babysitting. We were thinking it would be e-zier with both of us there. Can you give me some rate ideas? And will anybody hire a male?

Give all the advice you want.

At age 12, babysitting is a good start to earn money. Both girls and boys can babysit as long as they are mature enough to take the responsibility of caring for younger ones.
You could start by babysitting family members or volunteering at your church in the day care room. Most parents leave their young children in the day care that are too young to sit through the sermon or not old enough to attend Sunday school. This will show parents that you are responsible and you can mention to them that you are available to babysit for them.
As far as being paid for your services, this can be a set rate an hour or an evening rate. I would check and see what other sitters charge or let the parents decide the amount to give you when you babysit their children.

At the age of 12 you lack the responsibility and knowledge that a slightly older and more mature babysitter would have so yes I think that it would be better having two of you there.
I presume you have younger siblings - like you actually know how to look after kids - change nappies/feed/ deal with a troublesome 5 year old!!?
I dont know where you're from - but here in Ireland I think the going rate is about €20.00 for a nights babysitting.

A couple of things here:
1.) Whoever is home schooling you is doing you an injustice....first of all it's Myself and a friend are 12....or....My friend and I.....not "me and my friend"...so have your mother learn English before she teaches it.
2.) No, no one will hire a male babysitter and it's not a good idea. Go find another way to earn some money.....cut lawns....shovel driveways in the winter.....there are plenty of chores people will pay you to do....leave the babysitting to girls.
PS: The word is easier not e-zier...same amount of letters!! Seriously, ask if you can go to school....it will help your grammar and your social skills.

yea some people will hire a male if he is known to be responsible... i would say about 5-6 bucks an hour and make sure its for a long period of time so you can make more money

try to find out what the going rates are in your local area and take it from there.
You will need to establish good references, so try to start with family or close family friends to build your clientele. Then have them write letters of reference for you to present to potentials.
