Hospice charges are generally determined by the ability to pay. usually, medicaid, medicare will cover costs. if no insurance, no payment.. however, it's appreciated if donations were made to them.

I don't know about where you live but here in Ontario, Canada there is no charge for Hospice services. Majority of staff are caring volunteers and this helps keep the cost down. Great service to use also for contacts outside the organization that can also help people.

my wife is a hospice social worker..it's not free, but its generally covered by insurance, medicaid, or medicare.

In canada i believe its free, in the US I think medicaire pays for it.
