why is it on some council web sites they state they have council houses for immediate let, then you apply and they take 28 days to process application.... then once its processed you ask for a house that you can move into immediatley, then they tell you, you havnt chosen the right area, so you chose the right area, and it takes another 28 days to process the application ammendment, and then guess wot,... the house you wanted has been let because it has taken them 2 month to sort out a bit of paper work aaaaarrrrhgggggghhh
lolol, sorry it makes me angry..

yip it makes me sick that people who arent from this country get first choice of housing. i have lived in area for 34 years and have 2 young kids and am registered as being homeless and i still cant get one. maybe if i change my name and paint my face or adopt an addiction i will get rehoused asap.. no offence meant to anyone who falls into this catogery

From the sound of it at least you qualify for a council house....I'm not so lucky! I have recently returned to the U.K because my dad died and I need to be near my mum to look after her, But apparantly because I am a single white male I don't qualify even though they have hundreds sitting empty in this area! As a result I have to rent privately and it takes 75% of my take home pay! Good luck with your application....one day they'll make them available to all of us...or will hell freeze over first?

Why buy a tent you can rent one in France and Spain and still claim UK benefits,Just kidding.Try to be helpful round our way they have a scheme called Under One Roof, the council and housing associations have got together and advertise in the local paper any available ,you have to get in contact with them and tell them the property you are interested in and ask to put a bid in for it,then they do an estimate of your needs on the info you give them and if your lucky you are given first refusal,Have you tried the housing association's in your area,Good Luck.

I'm surprised that somebody, who is either a socialist or comfortably housed, has not yet said that it is right to house immigrants first.
Or they will say that there should be enough houses for everyone meaning that we should build enough houses to accommodate the rest of the world.

forget it. council houses get given to disabled people and imargents before anyone else.
my friend karen had to wait nearly 3 years for a house after her baby was born. her exfiance beat her up when she was pregnant but she had to go back home and live round at her mums sharing a bedroom with her lil girl and her older sister.

Well, round here it takes you 2 years to get a council house. Even then, immigrants get priority! Top that!
