I'd like to make my own reality TV show aptly called "I'm a Celebrity - Time to Die!"

The format will be straightforward enough, members of the public vote for the "Celeb's" they want to see executed LIVE on TV. A random selected member of the public gets to choose the method of execution, choices range from, hanging, electrocution, drowning, being eaten by crocodiles(my favourite), thrown off a tall building, repeatedly ran-over by large truck.....the list is endless

What do you think, I'm on to a sure fire winner?

God yes! The majority of Reality TV isn't that at all. Look at Big Brother, they lumped together some of the most vile people you could ever come across and gave them a shed load of money and made them all minor celebrities. It's all horribly fabricated. The lad who won it, Pete now has a £1m book deal on top of everything else - what for? That immensely irritating cow Nikki now has her own TV show (Princess Nikki), how the f**k did THAT happen? Jade Goody, why? Ok, ok... I'm starting to go off on one here lol. My point is if you want Reality TV, watch the news, there's plenty of fun to be had watching our poor lads and girls out in Afghanistan and Iraq shitting themselves on a daily basis (I know this because I was there in 1991, if anyone likes to comment). The only thing I can stomach is the X-Factor (albeit in fairly small doses) because at least some of those people had a modicum of talent. I am constantly staggered by the way the British public are suckered into this form of entertainment, are we really that thick?

Oh yes. Reality TV will be the death of your intellect. Watch this and count the brain cells imploding. If there was a Satan, this would be his finest triumph. We pay TV licence fees, and we get this **** in return! Frankly, it's an insult. I've had it with television, what happened to the documentaries, the current affairs, the informed debate, the good comedy, things that matter? Everything is trivial dross these days. There is a place for it, but what we are experiencing now is overkill. Turn it off.

Its overrated and full of foolish people. I want to sit at home and watch some real TV (i.e. Drama, Comedy, etc) Not some nut balls eating a cows nuts for a chance to win 50 grand or a bunch a ladies (word used very loosely) compete to win an engagement with a complete stranger. Or TV shows showing us C - list celebrities, because we don't have enough entertainment shows or tabloid magazines to fill us up with this nonsense about who is doing who and who had what done to themselves, blah blah.Give me back quirky shows like Friends, or Seinfeld, and so on, before you pollute my brain with this reality crap and by the way its not reality because in Real life no one eats a cows nuts or willingly let themselves be dropped off on an isolated island and see how they survive.
Boring.

YES!!! The suits at the networks already disrespect the viewers; they're just going for the cheap when it comes to new shows. Right now, the best shows are coming out on TNT, USA and SciFi, because they still cater to what the viewing public wants to see. The regular broadcast channels have lost all touch with "reality" but showing us junk they refer to as "reality".

I think its kind of ludicrous to sit at home, possibly bored so you decide to watch someone else inside a house. I think television full stop is boring only in my earlier days i enjoyed t.v, but I feel like the only entertaining thing to do nowadays is to go on holiday or buy something new I like to change my scenery .Watching t.v for too long just reminds me that I am in the same spot.

Definitley! The thing is reality t.v. is so cheap to make and the masses watch it so t.v. bosses are just catering for demand without having to dig deep in to their pockets.

For this reason, big budget dramas are scarce these days, although Cracker and Prime Suspect are back, horray!
