Saxon
Pronounced: SAK-sun
From a surname which was derived from the name of the Germanic tribe the Saxons, ultimately deriving from the Germanic word sahs meaning "knife". This name can also be given in direct reference to the tribe.

I definitely think it's interesting, but it does make me think of Robin Hood, King Arthur, etc...

You could try the baby namer at http://www.parenting.com/parenting/pregnancy/tools/babynamer/0,20172,,00.html?cid=tout-tagcloud-babynames

Be careful with giving your child too unique of a name. Studies show that is makes it harder to get a job (i.e. 2 identical resumes one says John on the top the other says Saxon, John will typically get the call back), you get paid less, etc...

Congratulations!

The saxon's were a tribal group of people who fought against roman occupation, and later english rule of scotland and parts of ireland. They were known for their complete lack of mercy and compassion, and their horrific raids of raping and pillaging.

Think 'king arthur'.

I think its a nice name and most people probably wouldnt associate with those horrific times in history or those people. BUt for me, thats all i can think of. A little heathen.

Go out and get 'the best baby name book' with 30k names in it, and just take your time reading through the names until you find a few you really like. You'll find some unusual ones.

That name will cause some problems for him when he gets older, but it is a pretty name. It's not fun when your name is made fun of. Believe me, I know.

I love the name Collin. Some other names I like are Will, Daniel, Theodore (Theo, Ted), and some others.

Get a baby book, there are a lot of good unusual names there.

I personally like it, but I think it may be one that he would have to take some ridicule for. (face it, kids can be cruel- for some reason I am hearing "Sax & Drugs & Rock 'n Roll)

Other names I kind of like: Dacks, Derrick (not unusual, but I like it), Dakota, (I think I must have a thing for "D" names!) How about Houston, or Kal

Good luck. You can choose whatever name you will comfortable calling him for the rest of his life!

It's not really my style. Mostly because it's a vowel away from "Sexon". If he ends up good looking later in life the girls will get interesting nicknames for him.

There are a bunch of really cool names at this website!>>>www.babynamesworld.com

I think it's a really cute name. I also think when he's in fifth grade, the other kids will call him "Sexon". But it's a very cute name.

I like Jagger and Bowie for a boy.

Boys don't do as well as girls with really unusual names.

Try something distiguished but not so unheard of.
