Mr. Big boy, you must have cried in the same way when you were young. Ask you mama!

She probably screams because she gets a reaction from it. Try saying (in a calm voice), "While your screaming you will get nothing!" If she does it in public leave the store. She's just trying to get a reaction & attention.
My daughter tried that once! I grabbed her arm, started walking towards the door and told her that the next stop was home where she was going to go to sleep and since she couldn't behave in public that she would stay at home with a babysitter every time I left the house. She never did that again.

Every child is different, try a couple of different things to see what works on her. 1) time out/punishment, 2) take away her favorite things and last but not least 3) try asking her why she feels the need to scream, you might just get an answer!!!

If she is screaming and getting whatever she wants, then that is the reason she is screaming. Children are very smart, they will find ways of getting what they want and if screaming works why not? I would suggest not giving in. Getting down on her level and asking her to calm down and tell you what it is she wants. Also, let her know that you can not understand what she wants when she is screaming. And until she can stop screaming and talk to you then you are not going to listen. If you have to put head phones on until she calms down. That seemed to work with my children. It is going to be hard and frustrating, and will not stop after one day. It can take months to get her behavior to stop. But you have to keep at it. Eventually, she will get the message that her screaming is not getting her anywhere.

How old is she? If she can't talk yet then she can only communicate by screaming...well sort of, you could teach her to point or use sign language.

If she is older then tell her you can't understand her until she talks in a normal "big girl" voice...don't give in until she asks the right way. She'll stop when she realizes she won't get it until she talks normally.

noxious gas (she will go unconious)
poinson dart gun (will make her go unconious)
Tape her to a chair and tape her mouth shut
shoot her (no noise forever)
give her a knock-out pill

This is what you can do... and this is why I can't be a babysitter...

Don't give in. Don't raise your voice to her. Try lowering it... it works.
