I think the fastest anyone has been clocked/caught was in Minnesota a few years ago. There was a guy racing an R1 with a racing bike (don't know the brand). He was clocked by a police officer in an airplane above the highway at over 200 MPH.
Good luck with that - a stock R1 has a governor that cuts the engine at 186 MPH (300 KMh). It can be easily removed, don't recall how, but I've heard that it can be removed. I would suggest, however, that if you really want to go fast - get a turbo Hayabusa or a Ninja ZX-14, remove the governor, upgrade the exhaust and get a Power Commander, jet the bike, then go for it!

The fastest a bike in the Uk has been done for was 148mph, The rider was banned for a year and died soon after getting back on a bike.
If you want to try this then good luck, I have a feeling you are full of **** . the police will just let the helicopter follow you no need for a chase . And if you think you can out run a chopper then dont forget that it has got a radio. They will just follow you home.
If you want to see some high speed riding then check out "Ghostrider" from sweden , Mad as a hatter.

Some motor cyclists scare the living daylights out of me on the motorway I'll be sailing along at or near the limit when they come out of nowhere and roar past many of them at well over the ton. have they never thought what would happen if they came across an obstruction in the road on a curve at over one hundred MPH.

I believe it was 157mph, 2 bikes up the on ramp stright to the outside lane and right in front of the old bill!
Both banned!
Good luck, you might want to try a faster bike though, mayby a derisricted Hayabusa - ZZR1400 or the likes.

No-one needs to tell you you are irresposible, you already know that, but someone needs to tell you that you are totally out of your cotton-picking mind, completely off your rocker and fell hard on your friggin head.
Who else will you kill beside yourself, you ****??(if you want to kill yourself that will at least solve one problem and leave some extra oxygen for someone who can really use it). Oh, and a Yam R1 is not the fastest thing around, but then with only one brain cell to work with it is quite unreasonable for anyone to expect you to realize that.
Try Durban to Johannesburg in under 4 hours - Simon Fourie did it and didn't kill anyone - not even himself.
