Advice from a grown-up: In order to recognize and appreciate the person who will become the love of your life, you need a basis for comparison. You have to have experiences so you know what you like and what you don't. It's inevitable that you will get your heart broken, and you'll recover. When you meet your true love, you will recognize them because they'll stand apart from your previous loves. You can't find love without living.

Secondly, if you're not happy with yourself, you'll be lonely whether you're involved with someone or not. Don't look to a relationship to cure loneliness; that's NOT what a relationship is for. Relationships are not meant to make you feel better about yourself, they're meant to be a mutually fulfilling enhancement to already happy people. The result is that you will feel better because you're happy AND in love.

well, you can "have the cake and eat it". Like all things, relationship is a risk! You try and experience a relationship, who knows, you might be the lucky one who strike it right the first time and need not go thru the heart broken phase. But even if you do go thru that phase, you might realised that it might make you stronger. Whatever is your decision, just remember, "Its better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all".

The only thing you can do......reach out and take risks.....and trust your heart and your instincts along the way. You can't shelter yourself from life. Well, actually I suppose you can but how much fun would that be?
Open yourself up to the dating scene. Take it a day at a time. Proceed with caution but be receptive. Good Luck!

Sweetie, nobody wants a broken heart. All I can tell you is if you have a chance to fall in love fall. Everybody needs the chance to be loved.

If you're in love with someone, who is in love with someone else then that's different. You will get hurt, I'm sorry to tell you. You deserve to be number one. You shouldn't let yourself fall for someone you can never have. It will hurt every day knowing he's going to be with her. Believe me it's better to be lonely. There are to many single men out there to settle for bull. Love yourself and Mr.Right will come along. He does exist. Have some faith!

Life is a gamble. If you do not take any chances, you will live a lonely life. Let yourself go and get serious with someone, see what happens. Hopefully you will get lucky and find the love of your life on the first try, it took me three tries but I finally found her.
