basically the same way everywhere, with sticks and carrots. You have the threat of the law and gods punishment, and you have the rewards of being a civilized good citizen

The same as anywhere else! Parents teach their children the differences between right and wrong and the kids ultimately choose the wrong path and end up in horrible trouble that their parents then bail them out of!

Is it? We tended to have a culture of self control that depended on up-bring, adult social modelling, willingness to intervene and a strong legal system. I see little evidence of this now.

seems like with cameras - I don't live there, but geez you guys watch everything that everyone does 24/7..that is spooky
