Spore dollars 100, for sure my colleague will not give in. He rather keep it unused! Thanks for all your advice.

Average $100. NO MORE THAN $125 if it has LOTS of memory, and burners and stuff, with a big hard drive. That should be with printer, and monitor too! Trust me, I rebuild and resell pc's!

Which monetary system are we talking about?
Canadian dollars, U.S. dollars, Australian dollars, rubles, rupees, pounds, euros, francs, etc.
You also don't specify what the system has.

If you're talking Canadian dollars, then I'd say $100 (including the monitor). I base that on the fact that there's a computer store here that is selling a factory refurbished 1 GHZ Pentium 3 with a CDROM, 20 GB hard drive, and 128 MB of RAM for $120 (no monitor).
Unless you're just going to use that computer for the Internet, I wouldn't buy it. Otherwise, if you're using XP, then you'll want at least 256 MB of RAM. A new 256 MB PC133 SDRAM module actually costs more than a new 256 MB PC2700 DDR memory module.

Seriously... I think you can use it as a door stopper or a paper weight. I would not take over the machine unless your friend gives you some money for transportation...

It depends on the other hardware, but for a P3, I would not go any higher than $150
