Are Americans aware?

Are Americans aware that over 100,000 innocent civilans (men, women and children) have lost thier lives at the hands of the U.S military ?

Many Americans might not be aware of the exact number of civilians that died under the militaristic actions of the United States, but most globally aware Americans are cognizant of the fact that the number should be significant considering we are the most formidable military force that the world has ever known. The more important question is do most Americans really care? Unfortunately that answer is no. Most Americans, see the deaths of foreign civilians, as something too abstract and distant to distress them. Furthermore, they see this death as a necessary evil, because they are blindly accepting of the notion that criticism of the military hegemony of our nation is akin to being unpatriotic.

First, I think the most patriotic thing to do is to ask your country to conform to the highest moral standards. Secondly, if questioning the murder of countless civilians, as the result our military actions is unpatriotic, than I would rather be unpatriotic rather than be immoral.

Yes, and we're also aware that Saddam had mass graves for all the people he killed. And we are aware that on a regular basis Muslims kill homosexuals for no reason other than what they are. And on a regular basis many (not all) Muslims cut off the clitorus of 5 year old girls as part of a ritual.

Catholics are also aware of the Millions they killed over the ages in Inquisitions and Crusades.

Muslims don't seem to keep track of their numbers for there Good Book says they are supposed to kill those people.

Americans are also aware of who they killed in Japan and who the Japanese killed at Pearl Harbor. We are also aware of how many millions of people Hitler killed in both war and concetration camps.

Africans know how many rivals they captured and gave to the Dutch Slave Traders.

The Dutch know how popular in the World their Slave Trading and Colony in South Africa was and is!

The Aremenians know how many of their people were killed by the Ottman Turks. The Arabs know how their lands were occupied by the Ottman Turks, the Romans, the Greeks.

The Chinese also know about invaders. They know so well, they built a big wall centuries ago to keep them out!

So, WHAT country can we find in the WORLD that is without sin?

Pick ONE country that hasn't got blood on it's hands. Just one!

and over 4,000 PER YEAR between the ages of 15-25 due to alcohol related traffic wrecks....and thousands per year due to spousal and child abuse, drug related deaths, cancer, etc. why haven't YOU done anything to stop the murder of innocents at the hands of drunken college students who are so stupid they get behind the wheel and wreak havoc on defenseless people. how about illegals...the crimes committed by these ppl are growing at a alarming rate and what do YOU do about it, are you lobbying congress? are you doing anything except pissing and moaning? what about the thousands who died at the hands of terrorist extremists on 9/11 and the attacks before? don't hear you complaining about american citizens or our soldiers who are peacekeepers and not in the infantry...i don't hear you praising all the good our military has done....one thing for certain...you would not disrespect the military in my presence, i am a woman but i would teach you, very quickly what it means to respect and honor our men and women in uniform. and the really ironic thing is they do it so that smucks like yourself can sit on the computer and whine in the comfort of your own home and enjoy the freedoms which they have insured...ask saddam or chavez or hitler or jong il if you could speak against them....of course do it quickly as they believe in removing your tongue or taking your life for that.

You forget those people sitting on the planes of 9/11. Imagine how they felt when they realised the planes had been hijacked and what is more: their own bodies and lives would be used to disgrace and bring suffering to their own country?
A lot of people die every day. From AIDS, cancer, heart diseases, starvation, stupid mistakes and accidents.
And what would become better if they were aware and I think they are.

What about the millions in the 3rd world countries that have been ethnically cleansed from the world by their own governments and neighbors? Should we just let that happen?

Innocent folk may have been killed when we went after Hitler too, should we have held back? If we hesitate it gets worse for EVERYONE.

We still do way more good than bad on this planet!

Since you consider suicide bombers and insurgance "innocent" civilians, I guess you should go over and assist them. If you even managed to shake their hand before they cut it off, you would definately be strapped with a bomb and told to rush an ECP.

No. You hear about suicide bombings every day, but that is unrelated to the US military. Only a fool would consider suicide bombing deaths as death at the hand of the US military.
