First of all, you have to follow all these steps to obtain better than showroom condition.

1/ Shampoo throughly and dry
2/ Use Mequiar's clay to remove "above surface contaminants"
3/ Use light polish compound to remove swirl marks
4/ Use carnuba wax to buffer paint work
5/ If necessary, 2nd coat of wax
6/ Use polymer instant liquid wax to protect your wax layer.

Walah!!!

Item 2 is the best in the world. Learn more about it. You wont regret. I, myself, was amazed with its results too.

put on comfy clothes and do that karate kid thing...

wax.. on....wax...off....wax...on...wax...off...

But seriously, try it out on a small patch of painted metal. Use water-proof sandpaper grade 2000 or higher. Very gently sand with water in circular motion. Then get Mr. Brasso from the super-market and do the same thing with very soft cloth. Any painted area will shine like there's no tomorrow. But becareful not to put too much pressure or you will see bare steel.

At My shop theres a three step process.. and I might add it can get into a bigger job if you paint is rough, weathered, or faded...First I buff it with a cleaner or light compound, Like perfect-it, then a glazing compound then with a oscillating buffer I use a good wax good wax..Castle seal glaze is what I use.. I can usually produce a wet look shine ... Good Luck
