Rx only sleep aid Rozerem is really a naturally occuring hormone available at health food stores called melatonin. It has been slightly tweaked chemically so it can be patented & sold for far more as an Rx.
The Rozerem site says it's 3-5x better at regulating sleep than melatonin. What they don't say is it's recommented dose is 8mg. Melatonin is usually sold in 2-3 mg doses. So Rozerem with 3-4x more chemical floating around in your system is going to have a better chance at hitting those receptors in the brain.
My doctor told me this and acted as if it's no big deal. This is just one example of what I am talking about.

The Rx companies have this country by the throat & are trying to force their way into the natural suppliment realm via the back door.

My question(s):
Does this tick you off at all?
Any ideas of what can be done other than just complain about the high cost of health care?
Should Rx companies have to state the origin of their drug on TV commercials?

Yes this is very infuriating.

I suffered from ulcerative colitis and 12 years ago I didn't have access to the internet and me knowledge was limited. So I was convinced that having my colon removed was the solution to my problem. 5 years ago my younger cousin got colitis too. I told him to change his diet and try probiotics. He has now gained weight and is doing very well.

The pharmaceutical indistry is one of the biggest scams in human history. think about it. When was the last time a cure for anything was found?

All profiteering by misleading or unethical means ticks me off.

Solution: Be well informed, buy only generics. boycott rip off companies.
