I always make a complaint to a manager. It doesn't do any good though.
I lived in a town where it was 100 degrees outside and the theater was kept at 72. Ridiculous! It's unhealthy to have that sudden of a temp change (when you leave the theater) and who wants to dress warmly for the movie ( as suggested) when you have to be in that heat.
I did take a jacket AND a small blanket cause it was the only way I could stand it.

The staff of the theater regulate the air conditioning. Some work behind the concession stand where they are popping corn and it is warm. The control room, though automated to a great degree, has an operator or two and the equipment keeps the projection room warm. These warm people sometimes forget that the patrons are not working and keep the place too cool. A polite word to the management, usually will take care of the problem.

Good question !
Even in summer, when I go to the movie, I have to take a sweater.
I remember when I saw the last movie from Terry Gillian, the weather was very hot, so I had only a t-shirt. And in the movie I was so cold that I didn't appreciate the film, and the day after I had a cold !
Anyway, just don't forget to take your sweater when you go to the movie...

They are cold because you have poor circulation, could be due to a poor diet or lack of exercise, I'm always too hot at the cinema

The equipment probably needs to be kept at a certain temperature, the workers are probably warm most of the time, and when you put a bunch of people in one place the body heat will make it warmer.

I have no idea, but I agree 100%. It does ruin your viewing when you're sitting there with your teeth chattering and the fluff from your gloves sticks to your Maltesers.

I am with you on this. I always go to the movies and carry a jacket. People think I am strange, but at least I am warm.
