On the whole no, but it does depend how you use it. Without technology we would still be suffering from cholera, typhoid, bubonic plague and famine like they did in the Middle Ages. People (mostly women) would be slaving at home long hours of washing, cleaning and cooking (strictly, even a campfire cookpot is technology and so is the hweel, with literally no technology we would be living like bonobos or chimpanzees). But technology also creates nuclear weapons and internet gambling addicts. The technology of a society doesn't tell you its values. It is our values that do, or don't, threaten the quality of life.
