Hi,

Best advice I can give you is don’t remove anything from the property until you have sought professional assistance with the problem.

In 3 years of dealing exclusively with bed bugs I have only had to recommend the destruction of 3 beds and that was in commercial situations where rapid removal was desired over cost of removal.

If they have been in the property for more than 2 months and are well into multiple breeding cycles they are difficult to remove. You need to have someone apply insecticides that break the life cycle immediately to stop the infestation growing.

Complete removal is possible but may take a few weeks if the infestation is above light levels.

Please check out web site for other specific important information and good luck getting rid of them quickly.

Regards,

David Cain

Wash your bedding out on a REALLY hot wash, 60degs or higher.
If possible, buy a new mattress, sounds drastic but if the insect spray isnt working then I think start over again. You can get cheap mattresses at Argos or Tesco Direct online

I just saw a expert on TV about this exact thing, and he said that you can't get rid of them, everyone has them no matter how clean you are. You can make it so that there is less though. Clean sheets with hot or warm water (hot is better), also every month vaccum your mattress. Also are you sure you don't have fleas? If you can see them, they aren't bed bugs that are biting you. If it is, you need to get a bug bomb for you house. You can find them all most anywhere.

I just recently stayed in a friends guest home for a month and the couch was infested. It is almost impossible to get rid of them. Pyrethrins do work. However, they are like lice in that if you do not TOTALLY eradicate them, they will re-infest. Unfortunately, in most situations you have to throw out costly furniture like couches, matteresses, and bedsprings. My friend had to get rid of his couch and buy another. I know all of this first hand, because I was the one who was bitten and I was the one who was there with a pest exterminator and even he said that there was nothing he could do about them other than suggest getting rid of the couch.

I think you need a new matress, put your sheets on a 90 degree wash to kill any bugs. Also if you put your quilt in the tumble dryer for 15 minutes it will also kill the bugs as they dont like dry air. Vaccum your matress every week.

I have had these in my flat....Get rid of your bed....bag all your clothes and bedding. Get pest control to come and check and spray your house. they usually do this more than once and give it a week in between. you have to wash everything you own as they can hibernate for 3 months....PS get rid of your bed!!!!
all the best if luck

Wash and change your bed sheets regularly. Hoover around the bed room. If your mattress is old, change it. Try using a steam cleaner to clean the mattress.

You can't get rid of them without professional help. They are very small and lay their eggs in cracks and crevices.

Please call a pest control company that can do the job properly. I would get rid of the matress, but that is just me, sometimes you don't need to but it would need to be treated.
