Nokia for the software and user friendly functions, generally packed with nice features.
Specifically, Samsung is better for the sound and photo taking quality.

I found that the latest models of Samsungs are lacking speech Quality in the receiver and the Microphone. i am very happy with my Nokia even though i had samsung for many years before. i have the nokia 6131. no experience with LG. but then it depends a lot in what you are looking for in your phone.

LG is good - my phone lasted over 3 years and I am rough on my phones. However, I would go with a name that is known and trusted for quality products - Samsung. They not only make quality electronics - but they are a very well established company.

Depends upon the wireless carrier.
If you with Verizon, then hands down LG is the optimal choice.
T-mobile is Nokia. Sprint has no clear cut fave.
Cingular is Motorola.
