its just like, why do monkeys eat bananas? why do horses crave on sugar cubes? each animal has it's trait.
the scientifical answer, i can not figure out, but its just the matter of personal like.

It's just a stereotype. Elephants like almost all fruits and vegetables. They especially like lettuce and bananas.
