i need to find out what months,belong to summer ,winter autum spring etc.The main reason for this is to be able to do my gardening at the correct time of year

Officially, spring begins on March 21 or 22, summer begins on June 21 or 22, and fall begins on September 21 or 22. That being said, your planting schedule whould be timed according to the planting zone you live in. Although spring begins on the same day in northern Alabama and in northern Michigan, the weather is certainly not the same. Hence the need to know which zone you live in. Here is a United States Department of Agriculture website you can use to determine what zone you are located in:

Whatever seed packets or live plants you buy should come with planting directions according to zone.

If you go into a garden centre you should be able to purchase a garden calender which is a rotating wheel telling you what grows at what time of the year etc. Very useful and cheap.

Have you ever heard of the Farmer's Almanac? It is an excellent publication. They also have a calender which is very good, too.

read on the back of what ever your going to plant and it tells you what months to plant them. Its simpke and easy annd no call to remember anything, thats what i do.
