The whole morals thing is useless because how moral could any of them be when ALL of them are money and power hungry corporate whores?

either of them doing anything at all about:

IMMIGRATION
ABORTION
SOFT MONEY
HEALTH CARE
OUTSOURCING
WAR
etc. etc. etc.
you begin to realize both of them are the same. Good cop, bad cop.
Morals only distracts from the SAME job both do.

Jason:

OK, I'm not for slavery or anything. But I hate to break it to you,
God IS actually in favor of slavery.
Read the old testament,
The inspired word of God tells you rules
about how to beat your slaves.
Slavery is all throughout the bible and never condemned, directly by any of "God's word".

RLP: OH get off it! If you seriously think that it is Democrats who impede anything Republicans want to do, you have the wool thickly covering your eyes.
Remember that CLINTON gave us NAFTA. Will you now say that Clinton hates Unions? Come on! Start putting two and two together and realize your entire government are corporate whores not for the people, for the bottom line and contributors, for special interest groups, and now they have morphed into the SAME party. snap out of it already....

Oh, MelT, for shame! You obviously find nothing wrong with your government being bought off by corporate interest, now remember, that does not always coincide with the public's interest.
It is government's job to regulate, to protect us from corporate interest run amok. To set rules and standards...You see?

Thank you Jane, this is a topic I love.

I believe we are in deep trouble in America. There is an obsession by a minority of people that has spawned an irrational hatred for one man, and this is debilitating for the country. We have a deepening division in America and hopefully you will admit as I believe that this is being pushed by socialists, Dean and quite a few in Congress.

I also believe the real problem in America today is stupidity, special interest and/or laziness of the voter. How does a person who takes bribes on video, laughs about the ineptness of the FBI and puts $100K in a freezer get elected 8 times? And then the Senate leaders yell and scream about separation of powers. Yes they are right, it is about their power and even if it is against the law, you will not thwart their power.

You have career politicians running the government, not citizen legislators. Many accuse the career corporate CEO of only working for themselves, not the stockholders. Career politicians are NO different and they seem to think they are above the law and expect preferential treatment. If the only issue to remaining in power is to obtain cash, buy some votes with special interests and have the media spotlight, then the incumbent has it easy, all at your expense.

In the Senate there are:
44 Dems averaging 20.8 years in Congress
55 Reps averaging 16.1 years in Congress

these numbers begin to make it look like career politicians are in control, who have lost touch with you the citizen and are more entrenched in their own careers.

For the Senate, if you were to use two terms or 12 years in Congress as a term limit
25 Dems would need to leave and 25 Reps would need to leave.
Those Dems are averaging 27.1 years in Congress
Those Reps averaging 24.0 years.

Ben Franklin said of congress, "They are of the People, and return again to mix with the People, having no more durable preeminence than the different Grains of Sand in an Hourglass. Such an Assembly cannot easily become dangerous to Liberty. They are the Servants of the People, sent together to do the People's Business, and promote the public Welfare; their Powers must be sufficient, or their Duties cannot be performed. They have no profitable Appointments, but a mere Payment of daily Wages, such as are scarcely equivalent to their Expences; so that, having no Chance for great Places, and enormous Salaries or Pensions, as in some Countries, there is no triguing or bribing for Elections"

If you like the current political system continue voting along partisan lines. If however you are tired of the corrupt ways of elections and would like to see Franklins words be true again, vote for change.

Our country is being run by career politicians who for the most part appear to have lost touch with what you want, and are focused on what they want.

You can change this NOW.
1. Quit your partisan sniping, it is childish and only serves to remove the focus from the real problem in America.
2. Enlist your friends and family in the fight and ask them, if they agree about Congress to do the same.
3. Vote against the person who has 12 or more combined years in Congress
4. This will require in many instances you having to vote for someone outside of your normal party, but you are a patriot and you can do what is right.

Show congress in this next election that we the people are running things in this country, not career politicians. And we are going to do what is right and fix our country.

ALL CAREER POLITICIANS MUST GO, ALL OF THEM.

1. We are building a wall. More needs to be done but that is a start.
2. The Supreme Court takes up the case against late term abortions this session. It's a start
3. I do not know what we are doing on soft money - It pains me to say I don't know everything ; )
4. Health Care - we are working hard to keep unemployment low so people can have jobs and afford it. Personal Responsibility here - the government should not have to clothe, feed, and dress you...
5. We would not have to outsource so much if the liberal unions weren't killing us.
6. NO ONE wants or likes this war but it is a just war and must be fought. Let's get the Iraqis trained to take over ASAP. That's the plan!

Government moves slowly because Democrats impede anything Republicans want to do right now. They hate us more than the terrorists, or so it seems.

Thats the american way, we want a liar, honesty would destroy this country, this country was founded by power hungry white assholes, in the dollar we trust, and who ever has the power makes the rules, follow or die, that was litteral a hundrea years a go, now its follow or die socially and financially."All men are created equal" is a crock of ****, its all men with money or power are equal. America is the biggest scandal since christianity, also what america was founded on, but when did God say slavery was ok? We just have to choose the lesser of two evils when it comes to a president. Sorry I like to babble.

Do you work for a corporation? Corporations employ people. Where would they work and make money without them? How would the economy be sustained? Yes, they're beholden to corporate interest, but so are most of the American Citizens. It's a little more complicated.

Edit
What rule are you complaining about? What interest is not being met? The corporations for example are for universal healthcare, so that they don't have to pay for it. Yet, that has not come to pass. Lobbies are actually groups of people with a certain interest (pro-life, environmental, etc.) Life is not black and white.

you're desirable in affirming that the Republicans have not modernised even as it comprises social themes. both activities even if, have did not modernise to the commercial gadget of today - or, more beneficial importantly, learnt a thanks to responsibly run an economic gadget. when I say responsibly, i do not advise low-taxes or low authorities spending. Monetarism, the commercial theory both activities now more beneficial or a lot less connect, is a failure.

We need to elect 3rd party candidates this year and in '08 to let these SOBs know we're tired of their greed and corruption. I have typically not wasted a vote on 3rd party, but if we all did it wouldn't be a waste.
