Burning paper trash in a fire place would not be a good idea. I do burn the trash in my wood furnace although I need to empty the ash pan more oftem and some papers don't burn as good as others., so I still end up with trash. with the cost of trash removal I burn and recycle as much as I can. Food trash I put on the garden or in the flower beds.

You know, years ago we all had burning barrels but now with the ability to separate and recycle most of the trash.... plus most communities have banned outdoor burning..... the need to burn your trash is not there and people should be mindful of the impact of sending even more crap into the air we breath. So I hope no one says they do.

Far out back on my 3 acre lot, I had a hole dug, and I burn papers and trash there, keep my water hose turned on and out there when I do. I have a garbage disposal, and trash pick up for cans and other crap.
