I had my last depo injection in sept 2005. I went straight onto the pill for 3 months. Since stopping the pill in feb 2006 I've had 1 period in July. I then had acupuncture a month ago as i hadn't had a period since July. The day after acupuncture I got a period but don't know whether it has helped with my cycles or fertility. Don't know how long its gonna take to get my body back to normal to be able to conceive?

Well, I would go to an OBGYN instead of a GP because their specialty is the reproductive cycle. There are no special test you need to do before going on Clomid. However, once you are on it and you don't conceive, you will need to be examined by your doctor before going on another cycle to make sure your ovaries aren't enlarged because Clomid can cause hyperstimulation in the ovaries. I've heard of many women having trouble conceiving after the depo shot, mainly because they don't have a period. You can't take Clomid until you start your period. It is usually taken between days 3-7 of your monthly cycle. Day 1 of your monthly cycle is the first day of your period. When my period was really late, my OB gave me Prometrium (progesterone) to start my period so I could begin the Clomid. Clomid is to help ovulate. You might not need Clomid, you might just need something to regulate your cycle. My OB told me that sometimes they put women on birth control pills for one month to help regulate their cycle and because you are most likely to ovulate the first month after going off the pill. There are many fertility options out there, which is why I strongly suggest making an appointment with an OBGYN because they are more informed about all the options than a GP. Good Luck.

Talk to your dr. about getting referred to a fertility specialist. Both of you will need to be tested.
I was put on clomid following the testing and we conceived after my second cycle on it.

you have to have a full hormonal check, gyno check up to make sure you dont have any cyst or anything, husband/boyfriend will have to get a sperm analyze done to know how much sperm he has, the motility and the morphology
