I use a traditional spray gun like a campbell hausfeld and a 60 gallon compresor, but almost always have overspray problems. I usually spray at about 40psi. Should I do something differently or is there better equipment that I should buy?

You might want to go the some place like Sherwin Williams to check to see that you have the right tip in your gun. I found an HVLP works better, especially if you are concerned about overspraying.
